Here comes Peter Cottontail!

Easter is one of my very favorite holidays, because it means spending time with family, and that warmer days are just around the corner (PLEASE don't snow tomorrow!!!!).  Easter also means...lots and lots of delicious candy!  Luckily for us, we don't have to wait until Easter to get our candy fix, because we are located directly across the street from our favorite candy store, Jean Louise Homemade Candies.  Even luckier for me, my best friend Barbs and her husband Jerry, are the owners!

I have been enjoying the homemade candies at Jean Louise for years.  Even when I was a little girl living in Pennsylvania, when we came to visit my grandmother in NJ, she always had a bowl of Jean Louise's famous Butter Crunch on the table.  It's just one of those stores, that once you start going, you aren't going to go anywhere else.

Barbs and Jerry Benanti bought the store in May 2012, from her father who was set to retire.  Jean Louise has been family owned for more than 65 years and has a certain charm of simpler times.  They specialize in hand dipped chocolate candies, and of course all of their chocolate is homemade.  As well as having over 80 varieties of these homemade candies, they have plenty of other goodies that will satisfy anyone's sweet tooth!

Barbs, Jerry and the rest of the Jean Louise staff started prepping for Easter as soon as Valentine's Day ended, so walking in to the store right now is so fun...there are chocolate bunnies EVERYWHERE!  It's a little kids dream come true!  Here are some pictures of the inside of the store right now.  You really should get in there soon and make sure you get plenty of treats for your loved ones Easter baskets!  But just in case you can't, they have a website and you can order candy and have it shipped to you!  www.jeanlouisecandies.com

Don't forget to try their famous Butter Crunch..and the sea salt caramels...and the chocolate covered graham crackers...and the nonpareils...actually just try one of everything, you will NOT be disappointed!!
