Rhode Island: The Narrow River

I just got back from a little vacation up to Rhode Island for a friend's wedding weekend and thought I would share some of it with you.  Over the past few years, Rhode Island has become one of my absolute favorite places to get away for a vacation.  I'm lucky enough to have some friends that are from there, and some other friends that went to URI for college, that are able to act as our tour guides, and help us see it from a local's perspective instead of feeling like tourists!!

Our first full day up there was unbelievable.  I got up with the sun and went exploring a little bit to see if I could find a cool spot to take some photos (and get coffee!!).   After getting some photos in a little town called Wickford, and then grocery shopping for the weekend, everyone in the house (8 of us rented a house together) headed to a place to rent some boards to go stand up paddling on the Narrow River.  We paddled out along the river and while a few friends took the boards out in the ocean, a couple of us just hung around on the beach waiting for them to come back.  Before starting our trek back, we climbed some rocks and laid around a little tidal pool, and it was beautiful!  I think my favorite part of the whole day was on our way back, we stopped at a little cove and just floated around on our boards...but that was probably because I was the slow poke of the group and definitely felt like taking a break!!  Here are some photos of the day if you would like to take a look!!

What's your favorite vacation spot in Rhode Island?  Have any of you been to the Narrow River?  I'd love to hear from you!

Have a great day and stay tuned for parts 2 & 3 of my trip to Rhode Island!!
